What am I going to do without you?

I wasn't always the best keeper, but I took you on so many walks, and we spent so many hours just sitting in the shade, me reading a book and scratching you behind your ears. We played tons of games, unique to us. You weigh almost as much as me, and you're faster than me, but sometimes you let me win our races. You're just a dog, but we have so much together...

Oh Gracie... Gracie Lou, you're in so much pain right now, and I can't fix it for you. How can I betray your life? How could your body betray you like this?

You're what made me believe that God love all creatures - how could something so wonderful as you exist if he didn't?

Gracie Lou, I love you. I'll never be able to replace you. You were my first puppy. I may come to enjoy the company of other dogs in my life, but I'll always remember you.

Your journals are becoming more depressing with each addition. I'm sorry all of this is happening :(

Its life, good things must end and bad things get better. Nothing can really replace that in any shape or form except for the probable. It happens.

Thats about what i can say. Hopefully shell get better. If not hopefully you can keep those happy memories and share with the world!

As I have been known to say throughout my life:

Whatever pain they may be in, will now be gone. They shall be in blissful, eternal happiness.

I understand what it is like, my first puppy was put down when I was 13 due to liver failure. I'm not much of a religious person, but all creatures were put on this earth to live and to die. Unfortunately some leave before their time, others leave when they are old and hobbled. Its unfair. However, life will go on. There will be spells of depression, but don't let it rule your life.

Its not what the deceased would want.

I know... it's just this is the last thing we expected. We thought it was a sprain, and it turns out there's a 90% chance it's bone cancer. I can't freaking believe it...

Trust me, it is nothing to ever BE expected.

Its always a shock. I mean hell, when we found out my grandma had lung cancer NO ONE had any idea. She just had quit her job right before the physical. We later found out had the physical gone through she would've been laid off for having cancer.
